Yesterday was my first official work out of the Biggest Looser Challenge at Bodies By Design, however I have been working with my trainer Nancy for months now. You might be surprised that I didn’t initially sign up to work with Nancy with weight loss at the top of my list.
For about a year and half I have been trying to loose weight and have only been successful once. I’ll share that with you on another blog post. We all know that exercise plays a roll in weight loss and thus we trudge to the gym, work out at home, or sign up for some type of exercise class.
As I began taking classes I would get injuries left and right. A couple of times it was all I could do to stand up and walk.
I wasn’t giving up! This weight is going to come off of me come hell or high water!
Eventually I found Nancy Johnson my trainer. Over the past few months she has helped me with my injuries and connected me with other people like a medical massage therapist and chiropractor. All three of them working together to help me get healthy!
I am also using a holistic doctor to work on other issues that prevent weight loss like adrenal gland fatigue, possible thyroid issues, and leaky gut. All of these things are very common in women and especially moms. They cause all kinds of havoc on your health and will prevent you from loosing weight.
Now that I am just about injury free ( I have a foot injury right now. We are trying to figure out why and how to address it) I am ready to begin a safer work out program that meets my body’s needs, instead using a one size fits all method of exercise. I am learning more and more about ME and learning that just because something works for one person does not mean it will work for someone else. The key is to learn all about YOU and YOUR body and create a plan around YOUR needs.
That being said, even though you are following me, please know that what I eat may not be good for your body type. Some people need more meat than others, some shouldn’t eat gluten, some shouldn’t eat dairy. We ALL need MORE vegetables! It’s all a matter of figuring that out. I will be sharing with you how to find these things out for your self!!
The time is here for me to share my before picture with you and reveal my weight and measurements.
I have to say it’s difficult to share because to be honest there is a small part of me that is thinking, “What if I fail?” “What if at the end of this challenge I have to post pictures of me that look exactly the same?” “I will look like a failure.” “Why bother posting your before pictures now? Why not wait to make sure you loose weight first?”
Then there is the part of me that KNOWS “I will finally see results!” “I am so excited to see the old me!!!” “Everything that you have learned over the past year and half has brought you to this point, it is your time.” “Even if I don’t loose what I want, I will help other moms not feel so alone on their weight loss journey and that is not failure.” “I will learn more about my self and inspire others to do the same for their selves.” “No matter what happens, it’s a win, win for everyone involved.”
The pros out weight the cons, I can’t not do this.
With out any further ado here are my before pictures and my weight. I was going to share my measurements but I am a bit confused by what is written down on my paper work so I will share those later this week.
Starting Weight: 201.6 lbs
I leave you with this quote that I read this morning.
Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.”
