Coconut oil!! Oh coconut oil, how do we love thee? Let us count the ways…or not because there are too many to mention!
Tanya of Perfectly Flawed Woman and I have had fun researching and making chemical free spa type products at home with coconut oil.
Did you know that many of the personal skin care products that we purchase are filled with chemicals and they are actually causing more damage to your skin than helping it? Many of us think about the food we eat but never consider the chemicals our skin is absorbing through the products we use. Check out the information Dr. Mercol has accumulated on the skin care products we are putting on our skin.
Today Tanya is going to show us how to make a home made coconut oil scrub. You can use this scrub to exfoliate your skin and moisturize it all at the same time!
Tanya found this scrub on Pinterest and then tweaked it to add her own twist to it. It is fabulous!!! I have used it on my hands and on my body while in the shower. Make sure you rinse of the floor of your shower off and be careful when you step out so you don’t slip.
Check out the recipe below.
1 cup organic raw brown Turbinado sugar
1/3 cup dead sea salts or other sea salt
1/2 cup organic coconut oil
2 tablespoons almond oil
1/2 tablespoon Vitamin E Oil
1/2 cup crushed Lavender Flowers (optional)
5-7 drops Lavender Essential Oil
How cute is this jar? It’s super easy and makes a great gift that will impress all of your friends and family!!
We would love to hear about the different ways you use coconut oil! If you decided to try this personal skin care product out, come back here and let us know what you think!
